Let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him.
Psalm 33:1-11 from the daily reading in the One Year Bible
Praise to the Creator and Preserver.
Sing for joy in the Lord, O you righteous ones;
Praise is becoming
to the upright.
2 Give thanks to the Lord with the lyre;
Sing praises to Him with a harp of ten strings.
3 Sing to Him a new song;
Play skillfully with a shout of joy.
4 For the word of the Lord is upright,
And all His work is done in faithfulness.
5 He loves righteousness and justice;
The earth is full of the lovingkindness of
the Lord.
6 By the word of the Lord the heavens were made,
And by the breath of His mouth all their host.
7 He gathers the waters of the sea together as a heap;
He lays
up the deeps in storehouses.
8 Let all the earth fear the Lord;
Let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him.
9 For He spoke, and it was done;
He commanded,
and it stood fast.
10 The Lord nullifies the counsel of the nations;
He frustrates the plans of the peoples.
11 The counsel of the Lord stands forever,
The plans of His
heart from generation to generation.
The psalmist says: By the word of the Lord the heavens were made, And by the breath of His mouth all their host. He gathers the waters of the sea together as a heap; He lays up the deeps in storehouses. Let all the earth fear the Lord; Let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him. For He spoke, and it was done; He commanded, and it stood fast. Those who deny that creation is evidence of a creator, do so because to admit that there is a God of creation is to acknowledge that He is greater than they are. So, to avoid being accountable to God, they deny that creation testifies of a creator. Rather than believe that the awesome magnitude of the universe and the intricacies how it all works together is the careful and loving plan of an intelligent designer, they subscribe to the theory that all that we see happened through a series of random accidents. Let all the earth fear the Lord; Let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him.
The psalmist says: The Lord nullifies the counsel of the nations; He frustrates the plans of the peoples. The counsel of the Lord stands forever, The plans of His heart from generation to generation. Daniel 2:20-22 says: “Let the name of God be blessed forever and ever, For wisdom and power belong to Him. “It is He who changes the times and the epochs; He removes kings and establishes kings; He gives wisdom to wise men And knowledge to men of understanding. “It is He who reveals the profound and hidden things; He knows what is in the darkness, And the light dwells with Him. Many kings and kingdoms have come and gone in the time of human history. Many have aspired to become the greatest and all powerful. Yet even as their plans have been nullified, the plans of God have remained. The Bible tells of God’s plan for creation and for humanity. From Genesis to Revelation it speaks of His plan to redeem and restore all of creation from the consequences of sin. In truth history is His story. It reveals His love, His righteousness, holiness and justice. He reveals the profound and hidden things. In Jeremiah 29:13 God says: You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart. Truth is not found through human understanding and knowledge, but rather by faith to those who search and seek with their heart.
Sing for joy in the Lord, O you righteous ones; Praise is becoming to the upright. Give thanks to the Lord with the lyre; Sing praises to Him with a harp of ten strings. Sing to Him a new song; Play skillfully with a shout of joy. For the word of the Lord is upright, And all His work is done in faithfulness. He loves righteousness and justice; The earth is full of the lovingkindness of the Lord. Amen. I will sing and give praise and thanks to You. I will declare Your love, Your righteousness and justice. I will seek You with all of my heart and I will stand in awe of You. Amen.
