He is Risen!

Romans 10:9-17 Resurrection Day

If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; 10 for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation. 11 For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes in Him will not be disappointed.” 12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, abounding in riches for all who call on Him; 13 for “Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

14 How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in Him whom they have not heard? And how will they hear without a preacher? 15 How will they preach unless they are sent? Just as it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news of good things!”

16 However, they did not all heed the good news; for Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed our report?” 17 So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.

Many people differ regarding the traditions of Easter; its origin and even the timing. Some have put the traditions of man; the celebration and all the worldly things associated with the day ahead of the day itself. In truth, what this day is about is not the traditions. It’s not about the many wonderful songs or the stirring messages proclaimed around the world.  This day is about the fact of the resurrection of Christ; the Savior, Redeemer and Lord. It is not enough that a person believes that Jesus was born; that He lived and was cricified for the sins of the world. It is essential that we believe that He was also raised from the dead. He was raised not only in Spirit, but rather He was raised in body. He who died lives again. The resurrection may be a mystery, but it is not a myth. It is fact and it is necessary that those who believe, believe He is risen! In John 10:10 Jesus says: I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.”  Because He lives; because of the resurrection, we too can live in the abundance of the kingdom of heaven hear on earth.

Not all will heed the good news. Not all will believe the report, but “Whoever believes in Him will not be disappointed.” For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, abounding in riches for all who call on Him; for “Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

I pray that today you will hear, heed and believe; He is risen!
