The Lord reigns; Indeed... let the earth rejoice

Psalm 95-96 from the daily reading in the One Year Bible

95 O come, let us sing for joy to the Lord,
Let us shout joyfully to the rock of our salvation.
Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving,
Let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms.
For the Lord is a great God And a great King above all gods,
In whose hand are the depths of the earth,
The peaks of the mountains are His also.
The sea is His, for it was He who made it,
And His hands formed the dry land.

Come, let us worship and bow down, Let us kneel before the Lord our Maker. For He is our God,
And we are the people of His pasture and the sheep of His hand.
Today, if you would hear His voice,
Do not harden your hearts, as at Meribah,
As in the day of Massah in the wilderness,
“When your fathers tested Me,
They tried Me, though they had seen My work.
10 “For forty years I loathed that generation, And said they are a people who err in their heart, And they do not know My ways. 11 “Therefore I swore in My anger, Truly they shall not enter into My rest.”

96 Sing to the Lord a new song; Sing to the Lord, all the earth.
Sing to the Lord, bless His name; Proclaim good tidings of His salvation from day to day. Tell of His glory among the nations, His wonderful deeds among all the peoples. For great is the Lord and greatly to be praised;
He is to be feared above all gods. For all the gods of the peoples are idols,
But the Lord made the heavens. Splendor and majesty are before Him,
Strength and beauty are in His sanctuary.

Ascribe to the Lord, O families of the peoples, Ascribe to the Lord glory and strength. 8Ascribe to the Lord the glory of His name; Bring an offering and come into His courts. Worship the Lord in holy attire; Tremble before Him, all the earth. 10 Say among the nations, “The Lord reigns; Indeed, the world is firmly established, it will not be moved; He will judge the peoples with equity.”

11 Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice; Let the sea roar, and all it contains; 12 Let the field exult, and all that is in it. Then all the trees of the forest will sing for joy 13 Before the Lord, for He is coming, For He is coming to judge the earth. He will judge the world in righteousness
And the peoples in His faithfulness.

The psalmist says:  O come, let us sing for joy to the Lord, Let us shout joyfully to the rock of our salvation.    Matthew 16:13-19 says:  Now when Jesus came into the district of Caesarea Philippi, He was asking His disciples, “Who do people say that the Son of Man is?” And they said, “Some say John the Baptist; and others, Elijah; but still others, Jeremiah, or one of the prophets.”  He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Simon Peter answered, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” And Jesus said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Barjona, because flesh and blood did not reveal this to you, but My Father who is in heaven. I also say to you that you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build My church; and the gates of Hades will not overpower it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; and whatever you bind on earth shall have been bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall have been loosed in heaven.”    It is upon the rock of the revelation that Jesus is the Christ, the Anointed One, the Redeemer, the Savior, the Messiah, the Lord; that Jesus says He will build His church.  He says that upon that revelation He will give us the keys to the kingdom of heaven to bind and loose on earth and in heaven. He gives us the key to being the fulfillment of the prayer He taught us to pray, Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Based on the rock revelation that Jesus is the Christ, the gates of Hell cannot over power the church. Nothing that the devil plans or sends against us can harm us.   O come, let us sing for joy to the Lord, Let us shout joyfully to the rock of our salvation.

The psalmist says:  The Lord is a great God And a great King above all gods,
In whose hand are the depths of the earth, The peaks of the mountains are His also.
 The sea is His, for it was He who made it, And His hands formed the dry land.  Come, let us worship and bow down, Let us kneel before the Lord our Maker. For He is our God, And we are the people of His pasture and the sheep of His hand.   God is the creator of all that we see and all that is unseen. He created the vastness and the magnitude of the earth and the universe and the intricacies of every living thing. He also created each one of us, with the same magnificent thought and detail. In Jeremiah 1:5 God says:  Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, And before you were born I consecrated you.  God had a plan for our salvation even before we were born. In Jeremiah 29:11 God says:  I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope. His plan is beyond just our salvation. His plan is that we become His people and His church through the revelation of Christ. Come, let us worship and bow down, Let us kneel before the Lord our Maker. For He is our God.

The psalmist says:  Sing to the Lord a new song; Sing to the Lord, all the earth. Sing to the Lord, bless His name; Proclaim good tidings of His salvation from day to day. Tell of His glory among the nations, His wonderful deeds among all the peoples. For great is the Lord and greatly to be praised;
He is to be feared above all gods. For all the gods of the peoples are idols,
But the Lord made the heavens.
 Splendor and majesty are before Him,
Strength and beauty are in His sanctuary.
   In Matthew 28:18-20 Jesus says:  “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”   With the keys to the kingdom of heaven; the authority of Christ, not only can the devil not overpower us, but we, in Christ’s authority, are to advance the kingdom of heaven on earth.   Sing to the Lord a new song; Sing to the Lord, all the earth. Sing to the Lord, bless His name; Proclaim good tidings of His salvation from day to day. Tell of His glory among the nations.

The psalmist says:  Say among the nations, “The Lord reigns; Indeed, the world is firmly established, it will not be moved; He will judge the peoples with equity.” Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice; Let the sea roar, and all it contains;  Let the field exult, and all that is in it. Then all the trees of the forest will sing for joy Before the Lord, for He is coming, For He is coming to judge the earth. He will judge the world in righteousness And the peoples in His faithfulness.   In Revelation 22:7-21 the Lord says:   “And behold, I am coming quickly. Blessed is he who heeds  the words of the prophecy of this book.”…  “Behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to render to every man according to what he has done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.” …  “I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things for the churches. I am the root and the descendant of David, the bright morning star.”   The Spirit and the bride say, “Come.” And let the one who hears say, “Come.” And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who wishes take the water of life without cost…  He who testifies to these things says, “Yes, I am coming quickly.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus. The grace of the Lord Jesus be with all. Amen.   He is coming to judge the earth. He will judge the world in righteousness And the peoples in His faithfulness.

Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.  The grace of the Lord Jesus be with all. Amen.
