On the eve of the midterm elections

Isaiah 5:20 says:   Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light  and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet  and sweet for bitter.   

Unfortunately things are not as black and white in our culture, our society and our nation particularly in our politics as they are in God's sight.

Still, aligning with what God calls good, what He calls light, with what aligns with the sweetness of His character, should be a determining factor or a litmus test for how every believer in God should vote.

Things that are now polarizing issues in our culture, things which are being forced upon our children, would not have been discussed openly even by the most vile members of society a generation or two ago.   

But, we should remember that Jesus Himself, when He was here, did not try to change the culture or society. He did not fight for people’s rights. He died so they might live.

 He did not come to change or redeem the government, but came to change and redeem people and give them life. 

The right to live is the most important right that should be considered by believers when we vote.

After protecting the right to life we should vote for those who agree with what God calls good, lest we vote woe upon our nation.      

We are encouraged to vote according to our conscience. Believers though should consider God's conscience.

Please vote. It will not change God, but it could decide whether we choose the blessing of God or woe.
